Award winning textiles and interior furnishings house, Utopia Goods, is on the lookout for a passionate and motivated full-time Showroom Sales Manager to join our Paddington showroom. Founded in 2012, Utopia Goods, designed by Bruce Slorach and Sophie Tatlow, produces unique handcrafted home furnishings and quality interior fabrics inspired by native Australian botanicals.

Showroom Sales Manager

As the Showroom Sales Manager you will be responsible for customer interactions, managing the day-to-day showroom and the specification of bespoke fabric projects and furniture. Utopia Goods offers a unique proposition in that the business operates across Local and International territories, online sales to project specifications as well as traditional ‘retail/showroom' sales. 

The business is currently going through a growth stage with exciting projects ahead. We are looking for an experienced showroom manager to provide a superior service to our valued clients in person, and via phone and email. Your responsibilities will include:

Offering clients/customers an exceptional service experience in the showroom and over the phone

  • Responsible for showroom sales and delivering projects to clients
  • Improve and build on expanding local client list
  • Management of sales transactions in-store through our POS system with accuracy and efficiency
  • Provide meticulous ‘Attention to Detail’ in gathering client requirements & specifying products.
  • Acquiring a strong knowledge of the business, designs and all readymade and custom textile offerings
  • Answering a diverse set of product, stock and brand enquiries in person and over the phone
  • Wrapping and fabric cutting as required
  • Working independently in the showroom when required
  • Keeping the showroom and stockrooms organised, ordered and managing stock quantities on the showroom floor
  • Assist with deliveries - both incoming shipments and exports to the global market


Providing a unique product and exceptional customer service is at the heart of what we do. We are looking for someone to take the clients on a Utopia Goods journey.

What we’re looking for:

  • Available to work five days a week including occasional Saturdays (1-2 a month).
  • Minimum 4-5 years’ experience in a showroom or retail sales role
  • Ability to organise stock on the showroom floor to maximise sales
  • Excellent computer literacy - Shopify and Unleashed (inventory platform) experience an advantage
  • Positive, enthusiastic and passionate about sales
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • You value incredible customer service and always strive for the highest service standards
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience using POS systems (please note if you have Shopify experience)
  • Self-motivated and show initiative in your work
  • Ability to balance customer needs with other duties
  • Love of design, textiles and decorative arts is favourable
  • You have full Australian working rights
